Tell me what you know about firing Wolf steel case 223 through a mak-90 please. Let me know the reasons you feel that way also. Thanks for the help.

Russians made the AK.
They have been useing steel cased ammo for years & years.
Wolf ammo, is msde in Russia & has a good reputation here.
Pick up one box & try it, go from there.0 -

You may also find the lacquer-coated cases may not extract well too, once the chamber heats up & the lacquer from a few fired rounds gets left behind on the chamber walls. Folks using this stuff in AR's have this problem pretty often from what get's posted here. The only way you'll know for sure though is to try a few dozen rounds & see what happens in your gun. 0 -
SPCLARK, is right...... It does have Lacqure!! Have a friend with a Mini 14 in SS, and after about 50 rounds FAST! It will get lacqure in it. And it will make problems, it will not extract. If you do slow fire, It does not get as much lacqure in the chamber, Not as hot. But the AR's will JAM! Better fitting gun's... Not loose like the AK's or SKS. The ammo is CHEAP! you can find it for about $80/1000. But shop around, and for a few buck's more.... you can get the African ammo.

I'm not too worried about the laquer, as I have one in 7.62x39 and fire wolf through it often with no problems. I have heard that the 223 gets more abuse from the steel case. Is that the case? Where is the abuse located in the reciever? I have a feeling this is some sort of urban legend, but I want to make sure before buying a case of wolf.

On an ar with the deflector behind the ejection port, you will probably get some finish dings. I think you missed the point on the lacquer problem. The 7.62x39 chambers are cut large to maintain reliability. A commercial .223 with a standard or match chamber doesn't allow for the build-up of the melted coating and jams. The only rifle I will use the steel cases is an sks. The steel cases are cheaper but I'm not running them in anything better.

I use Wolf only in my AK. As others have said, the commies have been using it for over 50 years. I would rather spend a little more for ammo in any other piece.

Its cheap junk that shoots like crap, but it shoots. I haven't had any physical problems with the laquer. The only real problems I've had, other than lack of accuracy is that its dirty, and the powder stinks.
