New Semi-Auto Shotgun

Hello, I'm contimplating the purchase of a new semi-auto 12 guage shotgun. I was looking primarily at benelli's but then i heard that brownings were better and cheaper. Also, I've been reading about the recoil reducing system in the Beretta's and that looks nice too. Today at WalMart I saw a Charles Daly 12 guage semi-auto for 299, in synthetic and a beautyful wood stocked Remington 11-87 for 699. I can't decide what gun to get! Your help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    STAY AWAY FROM THE DALYS. IF THE ADAGE EVER APPLIED IT WORKS HERE. "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" EVERY ONE OF THOSE GUNS I SOLD HAVE BEEN SENT BACK TO THE FACTORY EVERY ONE.

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    I am not an "expert" but I wanted to share my experience.
    "Duckhunter" is right..........you get what you pay for.
    With the exception of the Benelli, I have owned guns by all of the manufacturers you have listed. I currently only shoot Brownings and Berettas. I strongly believe that Browning makes the highest quality mass production shotgun. However, Beretta stands toe to toe with anyone in this category. But if I could only have one gun, it would probably be a Browning. One other thing to keep in mind.....If you ever want to sell your gun ........Berettas and Brownings are much more marketable and command a higher price than some of the other brands you mentioned.

    I have owned the browning and remington the browning was lighter but much harder to clean.I like the rem-1100 great pointing firing all round gun

    I OWN AND SHOOT BROWNINGS AND REMINGTONS. I FEEL THE REM. 1100 IS THE BEST SEMI-AUTO SHOTGUN FOR TARGET OR CLAY SPORTS (IT SHOOTS 2 3/4 IN. ONLY). IF YOU NEED A SHOTGUN TO HANDLE 3 IN. SHELLS, THE BROWNING GOLD IS EXCELLENT. THE REM. 1187 IS ALSO EXCELLENT AND MADE IN THE GOOD OLD USA!

    I own and shoot 2 1100's,1 Browning,and 4 Benelli autos.

    1100's, and the Browning=camero's
    Benelli SBE's=Corvette

    This being said, I have never had a problem with any of them. I just prefer the Benelli's for fit and feel. This is where you should make your own decision. Handle each one and the one that points best for you will do you fine. Keep the 1100's clean and no problem.

    I like both the Rem,1100 and the Beretta,see which one shoulders best for you,thats a big factor I found out the hard way.

    rugster is right as stated from everyone else all but the daly are good shotguns. So find out which one feels better to you and you should be satisfied.

    I have two Benelli semi-auto's and between these and my O/U's have never found a reason to go for another shotgun.

    Since you are comparing, you may also want to check out the new Winchester semi-autos and see how they compare.

    I'd certainly love a Benelli for homeprotection - eventhough homedefence isn't one of the europeans lifestyles or worries as such.

    But for reliability - I'd say Benelli M4 Super 90, short barrel, ghost ring sight (no holo-sight or anything fancy) and a magazinefull of heavyloaded 12 gauge 3" with Buckshot or leadslugs. (RWS rifled slugs or Federal Buckshots).

    I read a lot about this one, never tried it though. But it was recommended with a high score.

    Being for safety - I wouldn't care much about the cost. I'd get some of the best - but theres a lot of opinions aboutwhat is best.


    Go with something that fits YOU, something that is simple and easy to open in a flash, something that won't rust or seize on storage, something that's easy to load.
    Remmington, Browning and Benelli all have models that should cover your needs.

    I just like the looks of Benelli =o)
    (What can I say ??? I'm quite "taken" by them hehe)
    Besides that, I've visited the scandinavian importer of Benelli, seen the models that the norwegian, sweedish elite soldiers use - the model that the sweedish and danish police use - and I've held one of those specially customed for the Danish Navy Seals.
    DARN I want one !!!!
