Ruger 10/22 help
I just installed a Vol. auto bolt release on my 10/22 but when I put it all back together, the auto release would only work about half the time. The other time it would stick and require me to fiddle with the latch to release it. I can see the latch get stuck in the up position and then the bolt won't release. When it does work, I am not doing anything different. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Maybe I installed it wrong? The only thing I wasn't sure about when putting it back together was the position of the bolt lock spring. I put on arm under the pin and the other over it. It seems like thats how it would go, but not sure. Thanks for any help.

I recently purchased a new 10/22....The problem I have so far is extraction......Rabbit hunting the last month in cold weather has caused some problems with shell extracting......Any help with that problem and any other hints on making this fine rifle a better one....I know there are dozens of add-ons for these rifles, but what is essential ?????? 0 -
Unless something is wrong with your new part, you probably didn't put it in just right or something in your gun just doesn't mesh. This is why I let my smith do most of my "drop in" stuff. I "drop in" to the store and "drop" a couple of bucks so I know it's "in" right.
