I own and shoot all 3.From an inital cost stndpoint you cant beat either of the Rugers plus there are lots of after market stuff available for them. If you go to the high end models of the 3 they are about the same. But the real question is, what feels best for YOU when you shot them. Try borrowing or rent each before you make a decision.........Hondo

I own a couple of Mark II Target models and have shot the 22/45 and Buckmark so you can pretty much tell which of the 3 I prefer, but Hondo is correct as to what feels best in your hands.

To be honest, the Buckmark feels the best in my hand if you are comparing STOCK grips, but once I tried a pair of Hogies on the Mark II, there was no comparison.

They are all great plinkers, but my vote goes to the Mark II.

This topic comes up quite a bit if you want to do a search. I can recommend the Ruger with the sole suggestion that you change the grips. You can also change nearly anything else on a Ruger Mk II to make a really good gun even better. One of my favorite guns: it's probably the only one I would recommend to any shooter.

I would choose either of the Rugers,if you like shooting a 1911 the model 22/45 is the way to go.It feels very much like a 1911 in the hand.I have a MKII and a 22/45 with a 4in Bull Barrel,I like the adjustible sights on the 22/45 better. However the Browning is not a bad gun,but I feel it doesnt stand up to the Ruger's.

    Best!!!

The ruger mark I and II pistols are the best handgun ever produced by ruger. I have owned two, one with the bull barrel and one with the tapered. Both had target sights. I just purchased a Buckmark 5.5" bbl nickle plated slabside for $210. It feels great in the hand but I havent shot it yet. If it shoots as well as it feels it'll be my favorite. Ill let you know Sunday. Im taking my youngest daughter squirrel hunting Saturday, me and the Buckmark and her with her single shot Rossi.

When Clinton left office they gave him a 21 gun salute. Its a damn shame they all missed....

The standard Ruger is my favorite. I had a dandy looking Buckmark that would not shoot very well. Maybe just a fluke, they are supposed to be good. You just can't go wrong with the standard Ruger.

go with the flow, ruger is the way to go!, my mkII sideslab is a pleasure to use and is reasonably accurate with cci standards and wolf comp lr.
