  I vote for the 7.62x54R. More power, longer range.

  Check the other post close to yours "7.62x39 for FL whitetail" and just substitute 7.62x54R for .270.

  You will have to make the decision. The 7.62X39 has ballistics comparable to the 30/30; while the 7.62X 54R is the equal of the 30/06.
