Ruger Mark II Standard
Bass Pro Shop is selling the Ruger Mark II Stainless Steel with the 6" barrel for $340 new (No additional charges). It's not the Target model. Keeping in mind I live in the Occupied State of Illinois, what do you guys think?
I need a .22 to shoot at the range, the .357 shells are getting a little expensive.
Every so often, I like to stick my head out the window, look up, and smile for a satellite picture.

I think their a very fine Pistol for plinking or takeing small game.I have two MKIIs and a 22/45,if you like the 1911 the 22/45 has a very simuliar fit in the hand.My 22/45 has a 4 in Bull barrel and would be suitable for target Shooting it also has adjustible sights.You may want to check here at GB before you buy one, I seen some on Auction at very competitive prices.

I like Rugers a lot.I think if you look around the GB site you can find a better price than Bass Pro Shops.Get the Ruger you really like as chances are it will be with you a long time.

Before dropping 340.00 on the basic model, take a look at the Competetion "Slabsides" model. I have recently seen one for the same price. The model you are looking at is also a nice firearm and it will serve you well if you purchase it.
I agree that you might want to look around, my experience with Bass Pro Shop is that they are often on the high side price wise.

As your looking around, don't forget to add in shipping and transfer fees for a final price comparison ... $340 does sound a bit high for a standard modle even if it is SS ...
I picked up my last one at a gunshow from an individual for $325, it was a very clean 5 7/8" SS Bull Barrel with adjustable sights and 3 factory mags ... and best of all, no paperwork.

I am right with you on the Shipping and FFL fee. In fact, as I am going around to local shops I am getting quite a bit of push back about receiving guns ordered over the internet. They don't want to do it but they don't want to lower their prices much either.

Im a big Mk2 fan, but $340 is way too much for the standard model. I paid $250 for a like new 10inch stainless model. Your better off going to gun shows or waiting for one to come up in the classifieds.
By the way, the 22/45 fits my hand alot better. I like both models but after I shot the 22/45 I could tell a big difference. You might want to try one out. Good luck.0 -
If you do end up with one, I don't think you'll be sorry, I'm not. I got mine in "like new condition" (10" bull barrel, with scope, mags, and case for $300.) Like kimberkid's (no paperwork) I have had mine a while. You can do better if you shop around.

I just bought a used Mark ll Target model in blue in 98+% condition for $165 with a new holster. If you look around you can find them used in good condition at reasonable prices.
If you don't care where you are going, you can't get lost.0 -
Try this....... Do a WTB, Tell what you want, and see what will come back to you... You never know... You may find someone that close to you
