ruger mini 14 international

i have a ruger mini 14 international rifle that i would like to know more about. value, number made etc. i have never seen one before.

    I am a very serious Ruger collector and I have never heard of an International(by that you mean full length stock?) Mini-14.
    It's probable that it was a custom made stock by someone other than Ruger. If I'm wrong I can't wait to find out as this would definitely be rare.

    I HAVE BEEN A MEMBER OF RUGERS COLLECTORS ASSC. FOR MOR YEARS THAN I LIKE TO REMEMBER A HAVE NEVER SEEN A MINI-14 RSI. I WOULD CALL RUGER AND ASK THEM ABOUT YOUR GUN. ALSO I WOULD CALL CHAD AT "RED EAGLE NEWS" 515 428 8276 AND CHECK WITH HIM. PLEASE KEEP UP UPDATED.

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    There was a company that took Mini-14's and put them in an international stock in the 70's or 80's. From what I saw, the workmanship looked very good.

    The following is probably not the right answer to your question, but maybe of interest to Ruger collectors. A few years ago, Ruger manufactured a Mini 14 for the European market. It was chambered in a calibre slightly larger, or smaller (I forget which) than 5.56mm (or .223). The reason is that it is illegal for civilins to own military caliber rifles in a few European countries. Also of interest is a Mini 14 that is currently sold in the UK for competition. It is identical to the American version, except it is not an autoloader. It has an extension on the operating rod handle that allows the action to be recocked after every shot.

    yes it has a full length stock of nice walnut. i am not a ruger collector or expert. iwas told at a local gun show by an " expert" that it was an international ruger and not many were made.

    no the stock is a very nice piece of walnut.

    seamus, the Ruger Mini-14 you're speaking of was .222 cal and you'll find them up for auction once every month or two.

    reason I asked is because Wally World had an exclusive deal on some 10/22's and mini-14's in laminated stocks, and some international models were among them. I recall seeing them on the shelf about 8 yrs ago.
