If you own one how do you like it? Whats the best ammo?

I picked one up at the gunshow yesterday for $210. Its a slabside nickle plate jobby. It came with an extra mag. Id like to pick up another mag but when I looked them up they are around 27 bucks, pretty expensive.

I have 9 different models of the Buckmark.
In my estimation, even though I am a confirmed Browning fanatic, they are all capable of more than my ability allows.
The 5.5" Buckmark heavy barrel is quality from one end to the other. I have tried numerous brands of shells and have found the 40gr. Solids from Federal--the GOLD MEDAL Target 22lr to be a very, very good cartridge.

There are about 10 models of the Buck Mark. I have the Buck Mark 5.5 Target that I bought 12 years ago when this model first came out. Some of the features that I find useful are the scope mounting rail and adjustable sights, paticularly the ability to vary the width of the front sight blade and the fact that both the front and rear sight are hooded. The black matte finish doesnt do much for me. The only real complaint that I had with it was the flush head screw that held the back of the scope rail to the frame. The early pistols, such as mine, had a under cut in the body of the screw that would cause the screw head to shear off if you over tightened it. This screw design was changed years ago I understand. The accuracy of my 5.5 Target is on a par with or better than my Ruger's of equal barrel length. Keep in mind that accuracy is a subjective thing that is dependent on the shooter! How has it held up over the years? According to the little notebook I keep on my weapons it has 13,050 rounds thru it. I have to admit it's cosmetics are geting to look worn. As to ammunition mine likes Winchester XT22 Target and Federal Classic in the cheap stuff and Federal Gold Match for the most accurate but expensive. 0 -
My Buckmark (1988) jams with standard velocity ammo. It loves Stingers and other types of high velocity ammo. The slide does not go back all the way when firing the standard velocity ammo. I had the same problem with my Challenger

i have 3 Buckmarks love them all try PMC zapper ammo it works all of mien with no problem 0 -
Iv'e had a 4 1/2" Micro since that model first came out. I like the way the shorter barrel sets in my hand. Mine is not ammo fussy. Put in it what Iv'e got and it shoots it better than my eyes will let me see anymore. The only downside is you need an Allen wrench
to take it apart to clean it.
