My brother has a 260 rem....it is a very good deer cartridge,,the deer he has taken with it all have one shot kills, they fold up and hit the ground dead.
I reloaded some shells for him while back with 140 gr speer spitzer sp
with 43 gr imr 4831 with winchester LR primer this loading would shoot an 1 moa @ 100yds in his rifle, off the hood of a pickup.

I traded for a 260 with "AlleninAlaska" and he sent me some loads that he'd used but for some strange reason I can't find them! He would probably give them to you. The only thing I've tried in the rifle and after the results I might not try too many more, is 40 grains of VARGET, 100grain Nosler BT, Fed 215Match Primer. The best 3 shot group measures .270 and the worst is .645!! That load is mild but the gun is Sarah's and I wanted a light recoiling easy to shoot load that was accurate. I found it!! GHD

I have a 2 boxes of Remington factory loaded 260's. I sold my rifle and have no use for them anymore. One box has the 125grain nosler partition and the other has the 120gr. nosler ballistic tip bullets. This ammo is less than 3 months old. Will sell both boxes for $20 plus UPS. Contact me directly if interested. Paypal available.

I had the same question. This was my first year shooting the .260 and I decided on the Remington 125 grain Nosler Partition. I killed a Blacktail buck at about 125 yards. No problems he was dead in his tracks.
Not that you notice much when hunting, but there seems to be somewhat less recoil in the 125 gr compared to the 140 gr I originally shot when I bought the gun.

Thanks for the replies! I still think that I am going to go with 140 though. I think they will buck the wind better, and I shouldn't have to worry about a shoulder shot on a deer. I should get very good penitration.

    Thanks everyone.

P.S. Thanks for the offer to buy the ammo, but I am reloading and want all my brass to match.
