old ruger 10/22 carbine info.

1. ruger model 10/22 carbine
2. serial # 32546 (yes, its a 5 digit #)
3. 18 inch barrel, metal buttplate
4. wood stock, pistol grip stock, squirrel on right side of cheekpiece, diamond pattern on fore end.
5. weaver tip off scope mounts,3-6x weaver all metal scope.
6. all bluing is intact, and the gun is in about NRA 90% condition. barrel is mint.

when was this made??? what is it worth with its scope??? any other info??? thanx, mike.

  Your 10/22 was made sometime in 1966( third year production), the stock doesn't sound like it came from the factory that way(deduction), the weaver scope may appeal to a Weaver or scope collector but doesn't signifigantly enhance the price of you rifle, so the Bluebook of Firearms gives it a price of $100. However, some Ruger collector out there will pay a little more for a non-prefix ser# model but keep in mind that a recent auction for a THREE DIGIT ser# 10/22 (9XX) just sold for $400. You still have a collectible little Ruger but i'm sorry to say it probably won't fetch the big bucks.

  MrMike - Im afraid what you have is a nice old 10/22 with a butchered stock. While it may look nice, it destroys the collector value of the gun. If I were you, I would try to find an original stock for it. Back then even the std carbines had walnut stocks. See them for sale occasionally.
