Powder Choice??
What little reloading i have done in my life was for a 30-06,and i used IMR 4895.I just bought a .308 Savage FPLE-2 with a 26" barrel that i will be using for targets at 100 yards and using 150g + 168g bullets.Would IMR 4895 make a good choice to start with again or should i be looking for something else?? Thx for any replies!!

Point Blanks,
IMR-4895 is considered to be the classic powder choice for the 308 and the 2 bullets selected. For a bolt rifle you can start at 40.0 grains and work up for an accurate load. Check any of the reloading manuals for more information.

In addition to the above statements RL-12 & BL-C(2) are excellent choices. rg 0 -
For the .308 and some other calibers,my favorite is H-380.I don't like extruded powders.
