website/you can find out date of your guns MFG?

Hello, Is there a place / website we can find out by running a guns serial number to find out when the guns we own were made?? I'm aware of "oldgun.net", but where or who can one contact for more modern firearms.... a 5's/700rems/ruger/ etc. thanks , red

  Good luck. I've searched for such a site, but to no avail. Your best bet is to check out the manufacturer's website, assuming they still exist. Email them your question. Some require you call their service dept.

  For Glocks, try www.topglock.com
  Usually takes a day or two, but if you give them your serial number they'll e-mail back to you the born-on date.

  Try WWW.Armscollectors.com and it will give you some info on Winchesters, Colts Guvs and Mauser Broomhandklles etc. Not complete but a very good and informative site. Its a fairly new site and deserves some attention and I think it is part of old guns. Not sure about others and hope this helps some.
