Cetme mags?
Do Cetme's take regular FAL-type mags or do they have specific mags for them?

If its one of the Cetme clones it will take either Cetme or HK mags, if it's one of the Original Cetme's (imported by Mars I believe) it will only take Cetme mags ... try www.tapco.com should is about $5 each for preban 20 rounders.

A note of caution on some of the HK mags which are available in great shape for as little as $7 per 20 round mag. You may have to do some very minor metal removal around the CETME magazine well so the mags will seat all the way. Otherwise, you can try to tinker with each magazine to make it fit. To me, it is easier just to modify the well and then every HK mag will usually fit.

What's the difference, if any, between metric and inch mags? Will one only work in one type of gun and not the other?

Are you getting the CETME and the FN/FAL confused? Don't know of any CETME that is inch pattern. The FAL was produced in both inch (British Commonwealth) and metric (rest of the world) patterns. FAL metric mags will work in inch pattern guns but not vice versa.

Yea, ur getting them confused. CETME's don't take FAL magazines, a Fal is a whole totally different rifle. The CETME is spanish, it is the precursor to the Hecklor & Koch G3 battle rifle. Like a big MP5 basically.
The new CETME's ur seeing on the market for $300 from century arms, I've got one, they're fun, not a battle suitable quality, but a great plinker in my opinion. I love mine. I'll go buy a 200rd battle pack and spend a whole day at the range with it, and have a total blast. Mine was a little rough and hard to cock when I first got it, but after a breakdown and a good cleaning, and a 200rd battle pack (same day, hehehe) it was perfect.
As far as magazines go, yea, the recievers aren't exactly speck, and some mags fit tight while others may fits looser, but they all seem to work pretty good. The basic choices u have in magazines is either surplus CETME magazines or various surplus HK G3 magazines. I found the best place to get them was from TAPCO.com. Just buy one of the little chest packs with 6 magazines in it for like $59.99.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
