Garrand, What's it worth?
Hello,
I am wondering what my M-1 Garrand is worth. It's a Springfield Armory "Tanker" Garrand chambered in 30-06. I have put less than 250 rounds through it and the condition is immaculate.
Thanks!

The Springfield Armory Inc M1 "tankers" are the only ones that are worth owning, but only since they should be covered by Springfield Inc's lifetime warranty. You don't often see them for sale, so it's difficult to estimate what one would bring. My SWAG is that it would sell in the $800-1,000 range.
Personally, I wouldn't own one at any price - heavy, nasty muzzle blast, & prone to malfunction. But, there are folks who like them.

Hello
Having 2 of them, I'd agree with Neal as far as price/availability/lifetime Springfield warranty. Both are shooters, however, one much more than the other. 250rds in two weekends. Bore-sighting by my gun shop shows no difference in wear after many years now. As for the cons, there are plenty of the later,.223, combat rifles for those who do not mind the downside of accuracy and knockdown power. I can stop a vehicle with a V-8 in it's tracks with armor-piercing rounds. Kill a man, consistently, at 800 yards. Try that with a .223! Anyways, I am no specilist and have more AR/CAR's than Garrand Action rifles. Still, I like the big .30 cal's! Keep it, enjoy it, I say! Matt0 -
"Poor" accuracy/punch of the .223, is what I meant :-) Matt
