I want a preban
could someone tell me about how much I should expect to pay ? not interested in NIB or other collector grades, as I want something to shoot. manufacture not important as long as it is a good quality piece. thanks in advance for the help.

Do you mean an AR-15-TYPE rifle? Only Colt made an AR-15. If you include the Colt AR-15A2 on your list as well as the Colt AR-15, there are quite a few choices, which vary greatly in market value. You can buy a rough Colt AR-15 SP1 for well under $1,000, and some of the rarer variations will be over $2,000, with some well over. 0 -
Right now things are starting to get a little edgy do to the upcomming renewel time for the assault arms ban. In other words alot of us are hoping that it won't be renued but alot of us think it still may. There fore I'm starting to see alot more pre-ban AR's listed on GB, however alot of them aren't selling because the owners are just asking some outragious prices.
But keep an eye out, and you'll find some good deals. And there's no such thing as and 8 year old "New" rifle, maybe new condition, but the chances it hasn't been shot are slim to none, so don't fall for that sales pitch.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
