Colt Commander ?'s
I would like some more details and opinions on a couple of Commander Models that I currently have.
I just bought a new Commander model 04691. It's blue with walnut grips, regular guide rod & spring cap, solid long trigger, ring hammer, regular grip safety, and single slide serrations. It says COLT'S Commander Model on one side and Series 80 on the other.
I also have a Stainless Combat Commander that I think is about a year old. This one is model 04012XSE. Stainless with walnut grips. Full length guide rod, skeletonized aluminum trigger, oval hollow hammer, double slide serrations, and beaver type grip safety. This on says Commander Model on one side and Combat Commander on the other.
Is one better than the other? Is one supposed to be original looking and the other setup for duty use?
Your opinions are appreciated.

Sounds like a standard series 80 Commander on the 04691. It kinda hurts to say this, but nothing special other than the Colt name. The XSE is another story all together. The O, XS and XSE (E=enhanced), models are top quality guns with much better worksmanship than normally associated with the Colt name.
IMHO the XSE is on par or better than those k-word imitations (stir, stir, stir) and you get a real Colt.
