Can anyone tell me where to find a mini 14 series 180 extractor?

    Yes Rugster is right numrich has them. Price is $4.65 plus shp&hand.

    Gun Parts has them listed but haven't had any in over a year.
    A friend haas heard of a place in Rapid City, SD that makes them,
    anybody have a phone no.?

    In my search for a extractor for my 180 for the past 3 years,
    I found a shop in washington state that was going to set
    up and build them on a new cnc machine. I have since lost
    there address and phone. If I can find it I will drop you an
    E-mail. If you find a source in S D would you please post it.

    The refusal of Ruger to supply this inexpensive part raises the question about the real underlying reason. I am told that if you contact Ruger for this part, Ruger will try to buy your rifle from you for $200. Why would Ruger do this? Why not just supply this simple (for the manufacturer) part?

    While I have NO inside knowledge of the true reason, I suspect there is something else seriously wrong with these 180-series rifles, such as brittle receivers or bolts, etc., and Ruger does not want to have to recall them. I think this may be another example of the underhandedness of Ruger, with the magazine capacity limit being another egregious example.

    This situation has caused me to quit shooting my very early Mini-14, something I really enjoyed.

    Fix it & sell it. It's not just the extractor that can't be replaced. If anything goes wrong with it you just have an expensive club.
    Been there done that.
