You are the supreme authority on California gun laws, or so it appears to me from my lurking. [:D] I have a question concerning bringing a Colt Frontier Scout into the state. I know that I must register the revolver within a certain timeframe, but is a Scout even legal to own in the state? I don't find it in the laws and don't know if this type of revolver was drop tested by the state. Probably not. I inherited one from a relative and would like to bring it home. What do you think? Any other experts know? Replies would be appreciated.

DWS, I can't think of any reason at all that this would not work. I see that a number of suppliers have these Hensoldt scopes with mounts available at prices that seem way too good to pass up! You were correct that when these scopes were available they sold for nearly twice the price of the rifles themselves. Hensoldt dealer cost was
$720 while an HK-93 wholesaled at $415...$11 less than the HK-91. Aw, for those care free days! Back when I was working in a gun store here in Orange County we could not give those 93's away. My old boss would moan everytime a few showed up...he only wanted to sell Colt AR-15's. I checked your profile and you seem to know quite a bit for someone from Mongolia!

    Mark,

Scope condition is stated "excellent" with a few scratches and one torn lens cap, plus a factory HK claw mount (which I already have anyway) for $550 ($600 with cam). Sounds pretty reasonable, unless I could buy new for hundred more.

Often the mind believes it is thinking, when it is only passing from one metaphor to the next.
