Mauser 98K German?
This is what I have. Please, can someone tell me what I really have?
blued four step down barrel, I'm not sure if it's composite or stainless, barrel markings: MOD 98 GER, ARMSCORP SL (and then either one of these) VA or VR or VK, and finally SPG MU
On the left side of the receiver there is a small Nazi eagle stamped, along with these stamps, .308, what appears to be a six sided star and a J inside the star, the numbers 2055, Mod 98k are in the middle of the receiver also on the left, there are a couple more stamps that were not fully transferred, on top of the receiver in front is stamped 7.62
On the right there are a set of numbers stamped, there are three offset number 1's followed by 6420, the bolt is stainless with the numbers 2055 also stamped on it on top of the pull back, these numbers are matching to what is on the side of the receiver.
Is there anyone out there that can help?
If you need more information than that please ask.
Thanks

If you're open guesses, I'd guess it was a sporter built a German Mauser '98K action, converted to .308.
The six-pointed star with a "J" MAY indicate that this action came from a German 98K (manufactured in Czechlovakia) that was sold to the Israelis just after WWII by the Czechs and used in the war of Israeli Independence.....and later imported as surplus by Armscorp and turned into a sporter.
As I said, this is a guess. However Czechlovakia was the primary arms supplier to the Israelis during the 1948 War of Independence....and the 98K was the primary rifle of the Israeli Army.
The primary aircraft of the IAF was the Avia S 99....a Czech-built version of the Messerschmitt Bf-109G. (no extra charge for this info)
