Flame Thrower Tanks
Can any tell me the value of a set of flame thrower tanks that are in excellent condition and are NOT demilled? They are two large tanks with one small tank mounted on a back pack. I do not have the wand or wand hoses and would also like to ask where I could find them to complete the flame thrower. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide me.

Falguy, let me tell you first that those tanks need to be tested to be sure they will withstand the 2100psi that they were designed for. With that, there are some hard core flamethrower collectors who'll pay for decent tanks. I met a gentleman years ago who was a serious collector of WWII flamethrowers. His name is Charles Hobson, 610 Terry Rd., Syracus, NY 315-468-2582. This info is about nine years old so I don't know if he's still around. Finding decent parts for these things is very difficult as most were heavily demiled. SARCO used to have a few parts available and could also be contacted about either placing a value on your tanks or trying to find parts. It won't be easy. If you wanted to sell the tanks you could also place a classified ad in Small Arms Review. I know there are collectors out there who be very interested in both the tanks and the backpack, even for a historical display.

Hello,
Need to know which tank is commonly used in wars,
Thanks!0 -
Austin- the short reply is ALL of them.
What sort of tank? Are you referring to armored vehicles, or the fuel and pressure tanks of the flamethrower thread you tacked on to? Any particular war- we have had several, you know. Major countries make their own tanks, and export them to other nations, or license manufacture to other nations.0 -
Mark Christian has given the MOST important info by telling you the high pressure these tanks are loaded to. 0 -
Google "Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot" and see if you can get there.
Your tanks will sell there fast.0 -
Gents- the ORIGINAL post is SEVEN years old. 0 -

So now in 2009 this info is 15 years old. I doubt if the area code is still good after this much time. How do these ancient posts even get dragged out after so many years?0 -

It has something to do with computer 'bots' (is that the correct word?) whereby some foreign scammer/intruder posts on all the forums at once, usually in gibberish. The early posts seem to get the hits for some reason, and admin deletes it, leaving the original post on page one of the forum. Anybody know what the hell I just said? I think I'm in the ballpark....Best anyway, Joe0 -
I'd only been a member of the site for two weeks when this was originally posted; it was one of the first questions that I ever answered and I'd forgotten all about it until now. I hope the guy asking about flame throwers 7 years ago did not blow himself up! 0 -
