When you buy a new Handi-Rifle you get paper work with it that tells you how to go about having other bbls fit to the gun if you dont have this paper work just contact them and they will fix you up, You must send them the reciver so they can match it to the new bbl. But you can have one reciv. with quite a few caliber bbls. These are great little guns and quite accurate. I have several, I load for them and if you take the time to work up the proper load they shoot with the best of them. They are quite utilitarian though, nothing fancy. But good shooters for the money. 0 -
I have found in my shop that these interchange with no modification. Sights are contained (iron or telescopic) on the barrel, so no problem there. Very accurate weapon. 0 -
NEF will tell you that the barrels must be fitted to the reciever by them, probably just a liability thing, in case two halves meet that are at the end of their tolerances. they have two different frames- sb1 is a shotgun only frame. sb2 is their rifle or shotgun frame. i have three. NEF sb1 in 20 ga, NEF sb2 in 223 with heavy barrel, AND an H&R ultra in heavy 243. all of mine interchange and work fine. If worried about the looks spend a couple extra buck and get the H&R ULTRA, same gun, laminate stock is very sharp, and looks like they tried to polish the barrel before they blued it. My NEF guns look like WWII russian nagants where you can still see the tool marks from turning. biggest problem i have is the trigger feels like it belongs on a $79 shotgun, and that is what you have. some friends have told me that throat erosion is a problem... I dont have the expensive toys to check it like they do.
overall very good guns for the money

they are now offering multi barrel versi-packs. there is even a .243 win / .50 muzzle loader combo. these barrels are prefitted to the reciever at the factory. these are not perfect custom high priced rifles and shotguns, but for the entry level shooter/hunter they cannot be beat on price and quality. the heavy barreled .223 is a tack driver. they go from .17HRM and .22 lr to .45-70 and .54 muzzle loader. i have 3, and will purchase more in the future.
