    This is kind of a sticky question--the 110 gr. Varminter bullet would do the job with a good hit; I think a 150 gr. would be a better choice on the smaller end. I've always used a 180 gr. for deer.

    I use the 150 gr for all deer sized game, from small whitetail to large mulies. A well placed, well constructed 150 gr. will do the job on just about anything. I am not aware of any lighter bullets constructed for deer size game, most are varmint (very light jackets) construction and will 'blow-up' on a deer's shoulder.

    I use 150 grain also. Drops 'em dead every time, provided I do my part. If I'm hunting in heavy brush at shorter ranges, I opt for the 180 gr. It kills 'em too. No scientific experience to base it on, just my experiences . . .
