20 guage fox bse-e
ok fox guys, here's my question. what's this shotgun worth in today's market. its about 85% with 28" barrels and the standard ventalated raised rib. will it hurt the value if i have it made into 26" barrels and backbore the full barrel so it is like a modified. i just don't need a full for the quail in my area.
thanks rick

A Savage/Fox B is really just an expensive edition of the old Savage line. In 85% it's a shooter... Even at 99% it's really still just a shooter.
Valuewise about $75.00 over a similar Stevens/Savage.

Nord, I don't mean to be a wise guy. But where do you buy guns? I was not going to answer this one, but with that $75.00 reply I must. First off if you do those improvements to the gun, you ruined the value. However if thats what you want it's your gun. The value I would say is around $400.00 If the gun is all original (no pad or cut down, wood not cracked or reblued). Check the auctions you will see. I sold one in 12 gauge makes, it worth less than a 20 with a minor crack in the wood very common for these guns for $360.00. This was about 8 months ago on this auction sight. 0 -
Sorry Nord, I misread your post on the value. 0 -
So you now agree?
No matter... Since I couldn't see the gun to determine condition, the answer I gave was about as correct as I know how. Modify that gun in any way and tables will be turned the other way. $75.00 less than a similar unmodified Stevens.
Correct?
