Dave, I'm kinda new to this forum as well but this might get you started...there are many better-informed members that will undoubtedly be able to shed more light on your question. Is there not an alpha prefix "L" in your s/n? I believe the Light Twelve s/n range of L42000 thru L83000 was 1955/1956 manufacture. Does your barrel indicate "Belgium" manufacture? Has your barrel got a rib - solid raised or ventilated? Does your buttplate say "Automatic Shotgun with FN in the middle"? Has the pistol grip on your buttstock got a rounded knob or flat one? Peruse the GB auction site and you will find guns like yours...you'll see what they sell for and get a "real world" idea of the value of your shotgun. If you have a 1955/56 FN Light Twelve RK, vent rib, unmodified and not shortened buttstock, nice metal finish (good original blue without rust or pitting), clean originally-finished wood without cracks or serious dings, you have a fairly desirable shotgun. I would be very-much interested in the shotgun if it is as above. Good luck and welcome to the GB forum.

Dave - Thanks for the pictures of your Light 12...it's a really nice looking shotgun...I emailed my thoughts on your gun as well as a couple of gunbroker.com auction lots (search "browning 12" to see more) of Light 12's similar to yours. I would say that the auction route would generally yield you the best price unless someone makes you a really attractive offer to buy it outright. In the meantime I'd keep it clean, well-oiled, and shoot some game with it. Good luck & best regards, Jim
