This is about your 270 post that was locked. Ross Seyfried is very fond of the Winchester Fail Safe bullet. He said that it has made the 270 an elk rifle. Not sure if you can get it in 150 grain but 140 is available. That or as Tazmutt said, the Nosler Partition ammo in 150 grain would be good. If you hit bone with the Ballistic Tip like a shoulder bone, it probably would not make it to the vitals. My personal preference would be a larger caliber, but if your friend is careful and picks his shot he should do okay.
