Welcome to a great place to talk guns! I am afraid you might find that the addition of a Russian trigger group won't improve the value of the gun over a standard Chinese price. It may improve the gun, so it's worth it to you. These sell in my area for $175-225 lately, Russians have come down recently to just about the same price. But, of course they are still harder to find.

The value of the sks has dropped dramatically in the north of Wisconsin also.
Prices paid for the rifle drift from 100.00 - 150.00 depending on the condition, with 150.00 still being in the box.

Location is also key, they vary from state to state. Keep it for another ten years-it is a better investment than the stockmarket..Trust me.

The SKS, $100 on spot, and $150 sale value in my opinion...
If u still have the original trigger assembly, install it back (unless something was wrong with it) and sell the russian trigger assembly seperate.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

at the local gun shows and shops(pa, nj, del.) all numbers/parts matching, milled(not stamped) wood stocked chinese(norinco) sks in very good or better condition are selling between $185.00-$260.00 depending on condition and accsesories(scopes, mags, stock, etc... the shows have had some super high prices on not so nice guns. yugos in nra fair to good are in the high $200.00's. people must be paying the prices, but i think they are high. maybe its a regional thing.

Sounds to me like just ur area, from what I've seen up north, especially in NJ any gun brings a premium.

Excuse me, did you read my post or just misunderstand what I said. I said $100 on spot. By that I mean if ur looking for quick cash, you will usually be able to obtain that amount of money for it rather quickly, hence on the spot, on spot...
Another reason I priced the sale value of $150 on it so low, is because do to the availablility of Yugo SKS's for $129 which are of such higher quality than the Chinese version. IMHO
www.aimsurplus.com should have Yugo Shooter grade SKS's for $129.99 if u don't believe me.
And FYI, thats how much I have paid for two SKS's that have been thru my hands.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

are you talking to me. i read all the post and i have many sks's. i have a couple chineese milled that are much superior than the yugo's. you can get the yugo's from centerfire systems for $99 dealer price. of course this is just my opinion. oh yeah and i can own almost anything in nys accept for fully auto's. no laws saying i can't. no premiums paid here. thanks tom 0 -
i too was surprised buy the current trend in my area. when i bought my norinco all milled wood stocked sks in 1992 it came with 100 rds of ammo on stripper clips, 12 empty stripper clips, 3 20 rd boxes of ammo, a soft case, and an owners manual. i paid about $150.00 for the lot. the shop i purchased it at offered to buy it back for $200.00 minus the accsesories about six months ago. there is a price bubble in the area. many customers apparently do not read shtotgun news or check out web sights, or comparison shop. i cannot explain the prices around here.
