Who made my M1A barrel?
I was looking at my new baby, my Springfield M1A, and I noticed that when I pull the slide back, the gap that opens when the op rod moves back exposing a small portion of barrel under the head shield. Well there's some print on my barrel. H-R 7790190 2-61-J what does this mean? Did Springfield subcontract out the barrel? Is it a H&R barrel or something?
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

Its a fairly new M1A, I think a 2000 or 2001 model, was a mil-spec that came with a loaded cupon, has walnut stock, and NM sights.

That is an original USGI barrel made by the contractor H&R.
Chromelined and last forever.

Beautiful, thanks CPERMD. I love Kira Marie, thats what I named her, cause every M1A has to have a name...
