The deal w/ Jennings
I was just hired to work for an armored car. I need to buy a firearm I live in IL and was just wondering when I look thru the auction all the Jennings 9mm are so cheap. I don't know alot about handguns. What's the deal w/ them. I need to get a firearm but I live on my own w/ a miss's so money is kinda tight. Any suggestions or help

not for a short answer but try using the Search feature in the upper right hand corner, just key in jennings. You pretty much get what you pay for, not much. Would not want to bet my life on a Jennings!!

BUY A RUGER AND BE SURE. NOT MANY MORE $$$$
I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.0 -
In most cases they will issue you a weapon, you might want to check and see if you havent already. You will want a quality firearm if your life depends on it.Check with CDNN they have police trade ins in a variety of calibers and Brands.I seen a used Glock 22 .40 auto in their last magazine for $319.00.In the line of work where you may be at a higher risk of haveing to use your firearm, you need one of good quality. This is their web site www.cdnninvestments.com. Gun Broker is another place to get good deals. As an LEO and a Fire Arms Instructor I recommend you train with your weapon as much as possible. You will also be required to qualify with your side arm and maybe a shotgun or carbine if there issued.Good luck stay safe.If I can help in any way let me know.
Best!!!

I agree with hunter but a Ruger. You can get one at a reasonable price and they are great guns. I have a P-94 in .40 and I love it. My brother has a Jennings and not only would I not trust my life to it I wouldn't even shoot it. Those guns are scary. Good luck finding something. 0 -
Do not bet you life on a Turd, that is the best way to describe anything Jennings makes.....There are decent used .38 Special revolvers out there at very reasonable prices. If you have a little more to work with there are many 9mm LEO trade-ins to be had. Good luck with your choice.

You might want to check with the company you are going to work for. They may have some regulations on type and calibur of the duty weapon you carry.

My father was an LEO for 18 years and he got rid of his. I just called him and asked he said they were shit! I don't know so I thought I would ask. I acctually didn't see the search function, but did look for it. Any idea of a good 9mm for a decent price. I take it Hipoint is in the same standard. Anyone know if a gun show would be the way to go and if there is one in IL anytime soon.
I can see after all the things I read they are garbage but how are they for just messing around w/ I was offered a nine for 100.00 and thought well It might be good for shooting at his farm0 -
Take a pass on the Jenning's 9mm for 100.00...It is a waste of 100.00.....I bought one from a friend's widow. The only reason I keep it around is because it belonged to my friend. It is a Jam-a-matic, I have never made it through a full Mag. without at least 2 problems.
I also live in Illinois and know of a couple of great gun shops in Northern and central Illinois...email me fcdtmallory@tbcnet.com and I will try to direct you to one near you if possible....

Thanks Alot I appreciate it. I didn't know so I asked. The only decent place I know of around me is Midwest Guns. The only problem is their prices ar pretty high even on used. I talked to the company they will give me the money up to 600.00 for any firearm I choose (within limits) but they will deduct out of my first 3 checks. I could do that the only prob I have is that in 4 weeks when I start I have to qualify and I haven't shot alot of handguns mostly 38 snubs. If I don't I don't get hired. 0
