I recently inherreted a few rifles from my grandfather. He was an avid shooter and shot all his rifles. Of the ones I obtained, I IDed one as a COLT AR-15, M1 Garand, and an M1 carbine. The rifle I have a question about, I believe is made by SIG. I took it out shooting the other day at the range, and can say it was a blast to shoot, but I don't have a clue to what type of rifle it is. It is semi automatic, has clear plastic magazines and shoots the same bullets as the AR-15. Which I believe is .223 remington. I'm pretty new to military type rifles and was wondering if anyone had any idea of what type of rifle this is and how much it is worth. It has around a 20" barell. I believe he bought the rifle sometime around the late 1980s. Anyone have a clue to what I have? Thanks for the help. 0 -
You say it has a #47 on the bolt. And you say it needs a bolt.is the bolt broken ? Maybe it can be repaired ?

My guess is that you have a military conversion like a 98 Mauser. You really have to give us more of a description. 0
