German .25 (Schmeisser)
Never hear of this weapon. It looks like a Colt or FN .25.
It seems impossable to get it apart. Just purchased it two
days ago and got it cheap, maybe too cheap. Can you tell me
more about it and how to take it down?

Good Morning WEBLEY;
Designed by Hugo Schmeisser, the Haenel-Schmeisser Model #1 pistol was produced by the C.G. Haenel firm, Suhl, Germany. This blow-back-operated handgun chambered for the cal. .25 ACP cartridge was brought on the market in the early 1920's. It is generally similar in appearance to the Browning vest-pocket pistol introduced in 1906, but differs considerably from the browning in mechanical details. I could tell you how to disassemble the Pistol, but what you really need is a copy of The NRA Firearms assembly Manual #4..It has diagrams of the Pistol and believe me its a must..Theres a deffinate trick to the disasembly of this little Pistol..You'll need a set of 'DRIFTS' and a pair of 'Tweezers' and some patience....If you wish, I could have a PHOTOSTAT made and Mail them to you..Cost You the Price of the Photo Copy and Postage... You can contact me via direct email...best.....
