Ruger MKII chamber problem
In my Ruger MKII 243 cal. ,,the bolt shuts hard on all shells.....When looking at the casing after shutting the bolt and removing, you can see scratch marks on the casing.........I assume the problem is a rough spot in the chamber.....Am I wrong ??? What is the best way to cure the problem.......Factory shells don't shut quite as hard as full length resized reloads......Gun is practicall new and has been a problem from the start.......

Would like to read an answer on this myself. I have one in 22-250 that does the same thing. I have been meaning to take mine to a gunsmith I just havent got around to it yet.

If you haven't been trimming your cases, that may be the problem. Full length resizing causes cases to "grow" in length which will eventually start binding in the chamber. If this is what's happening, STOP SHOOTING NOW because chamber pressures are dangerously increasing.
Check the primers on fired cases to see if they show signs of excessive pressure, such as "cratering" where the firing pin strikes and extreme flattening around the edges.
If trimming doesn't solve the problem, you should contact Ruger and discuss the matter with one of their technical reps.
My humble opinion,

IF IT DOES IT WITH FACTORY AMM0, SEND BACK TO RUGER OR FIND A RUGER AUTHERIZED REPAIR GUNSMITH, DO NOT TELL THEM YOU HAVE BEEN USING RELOADS!!! AS IT MIGHT VOID WARRENTY!!!! 0
