FFL and 1884 Springfield?
Will a FFL come into play if I sell my 1884 Springfield rifle?

Depends.
If it was actually manufactured in 1898 or before, it is not a firearm and not subject to FFL requirements.
In any case, it is eligible for direct transfer to a holder of a C&R FFL.

Your answer left me a little confused. Either it does or it does not. What did you mean when you sent:
"In any case, it is eligible for direct transfer to a holder of a C&R FFL."
Thanks,

THE 1884 WAS LAST MADE IN 1890, YOU DO NOT NEED FFL OR C&R, HOWEVER YOU MAY RUN INTO SHIPPING PROBLEMS, I WOULD ALSO GET PROOF OF AGE, FROM THE BUYER, BILL OF SALE, DRIVERS LICENSE, SOME STATEMENT FROM THEM THAT THEY ARE NOT PROBHITED FROM OWNING A FIREARM UNDER THERE STATE OR FEDERAL LAWS, JUST A LITTLE SELF PROTECTION. 0
