Shooting trap with a pump is always difficult the first year, depending on what you're used to.

I've used both Over/Under, Side/Side, Semi and pump for trap, skeet.
I found that Side/Side or semi fitted me the best.

I have no idea what Bennelli M1 - 20gauge list at in the US.
It is likely it's twice the range you put up to.
But that's what I'd be looking for - for trap and hunting. But that's just me.
    It's available in both 12 and 20gauge.

Look for something that fits you - rather than something that "looks good on the wall".
A friend of mine had, possibly denmarks ugliest gun - scratches, dents, filemarks in the stock, But he rarely missed more than 1 or 2 of 25 clay-targets and every waterfowl he shot at, dropped as a stick.

Winchester made/makes some good versions also.
I had a Winchester 1500XTR European, 12 gauge semi. Wonderful to shoot, if it was cared for before the hunt.

    Greenland.

Just owns a silenced .22LR Anshutz rifle =o) .308Win Steyr Mannlicher - Scout ;o_ That's all I need, but not all I want.
    Don't do anything I've allready done - It's just plain stoooopid. =o)

Remington 11-87 in 12 ga. would be a good "do everything" choice but outside of the $300 range. A Remington 1100 fixed choke goes for about $300 at my local retail gun shop (Arizona).

Check out GB for a used 1100 LT 20. You may have to go with fixed choke but you can pick up an extra barrell on GB as well or order one from Cabela's.
