Savage Stevens Model 325C Bolt Action Rifle
When were these 30-30 rifles first offered and when were they discontinued. Were many produced? Do you know where I can get a scope mount and 1" rings for this rifle?
Thanks

I just bought the above 30-30 rifle and although it looks in great shape, I'm concerned that the bolt action operation is very stiff. Is this common with this model rifle or could I have a problem that's causing the bolt action to operate so stiffly? I lubricated the bolt action assembly and that seemed to help a little. I haven't shot the rifle as yet. If this isn't a common trait with this model rifle - what could cause the stiffness?
Thanks

What you have there is a cheaper version
of a 340 Savage,probably in birch,and a flat bolt handle,maybe not.
They were many made from the 50s to the 80s .At the time it came out,it was the least expensive bolt action centerfire rifle available.
I have 2 left in my collection.
They were made in:
22 Hornet
222
223
225 Win.
30-30 and I forget.
Numrich(Gun parts Corp.)
has them(mounts) for $17.95,
normally $29.95
Great shooters.

Thanks for the information - I checked and Numrich does have the mount - I'll order it tomorrow. Are these rifles hard to come by today? I don't see them on any of the gun auctions.

John
