? about Promag

I was looking for a coupla mags for my new purchase (Kel-Tec P-40) and under Kel-Tec they have these mags for sale anybody know anything about them. THANKS--Mark

  I think I have heard of 10 people that didn't have problems and 100 that did. The only actual experience I have had with them was on a Para P14 and they were junk.

  better than usa's and westerns by far... bought some for my para p-16 and 1/2 worked perfectly out of the package, the others took minor tuning. all were drop free.

  I have used a lot of various Promag magazines with good luck. The Para-ord P14 is also the one that has given me problems. I think that the Kel-tec mag that they make is the 9mm. You really need to go to the Kel-Tec owners group web site and read about the P40 magazine history. I think the only non-factory mag that has worked well is the 40 S&W factory double stack made for models such as the 4006. It will stick out a little. There have been 3 different versions of the factory Kel-tec P-40 magazines. I use the last model in my P40, but they are getting hard to find.

  I used them in my Glock 17 and they are junk. I don't know first hand about mags for other guns but I have not heard much good about them. If you are using them for shooting at the range you might get lucky and find one of the very few good ones. I would not use them for in a carry gun.
