re-barrel a savage 99C

I would like to know how, or if it would be possible to re-barrel my 99C with a take off barrel from a Ruger No 1 in varmint contour? My current barrel is pitted badly and needs to be replaced. It's chambered for 243 now and I'd like to go to a 6mm rem. Can someone tell me if this is possible or not? Are there any take off factory barrels that one could fit up on this particular rifle? It is not a take down model.

  GIVEN ENOUGH $$ YOU CAN MAKE ANYTHING FIT ANYTHING, I THIS CASE YOU WOULD HAVE TO RETHREAD THE RUGER BARREL TO FIT THE SAVAGE AND THEN RECHAMBER. 6MM MIGHT BE A PROBLEM AS O.A.L IS GREATER THAN THE SAVAGE 99 WILL HANDLE, BEST STAY WITH THE .243.
