460 Rowland!?!?
I stumbled upon a 1911 conversion kit for .460 Rowland. The website (http://pdmall.com/CZC/460dat~1.htm) it was linked to showed some pretty serious velocity and impact improvements over standard .45acp. What's the catch? Cost, I assume, but is it dangerous for the gun? Has anyone here shot .460?

Yeah I bought one for my Kimber Classic Target. Brass from Starline too. Works well enough; couldn't get a load combo to provide accuracy equal to what I could get from 45 ACP but didn't spend that much time on it either. Heavier recoil, of course, and a bigger BANG so I imagine the resulting energy transfer would be considerably greater as well. I'd say any decent frame would sustain somewhat greater wear & tear over time despite the heavier recoil spring provided with the kit: there's no free lunch. 0
