Stevens 16 Gauge Bolt Action Shotgun.
I would like to know if anyone has any other information
pertaining to this type of gun. Any info on age or value? There is no serial number written anywhere on this gun. The markings on the shotgun are:
STEVENS MODEL 58-16 GA
SAVAGE ARMS CORPORATION
CHICOPEE FALLS,MASS.,USA THIS IS WRITTEN ON THE LEFT SIDE
OF THE BARRELL. On the right side of barrell there are the markings:
PROOF TESTED 16 GAUGE
2 3/4 INCH CHAMBER
On the top of the barrell it has:
SP IN A CIRCLE & 6N IN A CIRCLE.
Written by itself is the number 2.
The gun is in exellent condition. If anyone has any information on this shotgun, please help me out.

First, it's not unusual for your shotgun to lack a serial number; they were not required prior to 1968. Your Stevens Model 58 was also sold as the Springfield Model 18. Almost all parts for these guns are still available from the Gun Parts Corp. Value in excellent condition is in the $100-150 range. The circled SP is the proof mark. 0
