Pdog,
Save your money. A cheap scope is just cheap. 1010 -
CTD had some simmons 3-9X40 matte black scopes for about 40 bucks, bought 2 both have ben really good for the money. one on my 10-22, the other on a 788 rem in 243. it will shoot moa and haven't had any trouble fogging up and transmits light real well...

For an inexpensive scope, I like the BSA Platinum Target 6-24X44, I've had one on my AR Varmint gun for almost 5 years ... it's gotten me in the top 3 at our annual 200 yd varmint shoot for the last 4 out of 4 years

Bec makes a water proof, fog proof, and shock proof Rubber armored scope 3x9x40 for about $40.00 .Try the Sportsman Guide at 1-800-888-3006.Watch because the have the standard 1 inch scope and a 30mm.I got the 30mm,my mistake but when I got the right mounts its a great scope.Ive got it on a H&R Handi Rifle chambered for a 22 Hornet.
Best!!!

Take a look at some of the close out price on the Tasco World Class series of scopes. There are some good deals at Midway right now on some of these now that Tasco is going out of business. 0 -
Check Into Natchez Shooters Supply they how good deals on simmons 4-16X40 IT has target knobs AO 59.90 I put on my 17v Love They also had 3-9x32 Deerfield for 19.95 Good scope for $$$.. 0 -
I'm afraid I would stay away from Tasco scopes for now. The new company that does the service work for them now charges $23.00 for repairs delivered to their shop in florida.
And it's up to their discretion weather it's covered under warranty or not so it could cost you a lot more. You won't find that out until you send them the money.
Another thing, it's hard to get ahold of a person down there and when you do, you better get out your foreign language dictionary. Hard to understand what they are saying.
Take 101's advice, save your money and buy only one GOOD scope and you won't ever have to buy another one to replace it. It's cheaper in the long run.
Drink one less 6 pack a week for a year, and one less pack of smokes and you can buy a real good one.0 -
Take a Paper Towel Cardboard Tube with Thread Taped across the Front, One Horizontally and One Vertical.

RugerNiner, That was cold!!!! However for my $, BSA offers good stuff and if it's a problem, they fix it or send you a new one. Simmons Aetec offers very good clarity and repeatability(in my tests) and they have a good warranty program. There are a lot of dealers out there with shelves full of TASCO stuff that they paid dealer price for and now are going to give them away!! A Tasco World Class in 3x9 or 4-16 can probably be had cheap!! Not many problems with them but have 2 at the repair center now. They were received on 8/1/01 at the designated repair center and I haven't heard a word or read a word(e-mail)!!! As far as I'm concerned, you need to add 2 letters to their name....R and H and then transpose to read TRASHCO!!! GHD 0 -
Get a second temporary job at MacDonalds for three weekends. You will then have enough money to buy a good scope.
My humble opinion,

RugerNiner may have been cold, but you can try this. "Good things are not cheap and cheap things are not good" Another one is "If you can be satisfied with oats that has been thru the horse, they come a little cheaper". That is my penny's worth for the day. Oh yes, I have a few bottom line scopes. Give me a price range. GW. 0 -
the simmons Aetec would be the cheapest scope I would use on anything. I will also second GHD's experience with it. I couldn't beleive a scope that cheap was that clear and held a zero that well.
A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.0 -
I'd keep saving and buy a more expencive scope when the pot gets taller.
You could try going to the casino and try your luck, Or find a good hideing spot for your scope fund, And add to it each paycheck till you have eficient funds saved.
