LOOKING TO BUY MY FIRST EAGLE IN .50
WHAT CAN I EXPECT
IS IT WORTH ITS RANSOM0 -
From what I understand, the Mark XIX calibers are interchangeable by simply changing the barrel, magazine and bolt assembly (where necessary). The Mark VII had two sizes of slide (depending on caliber) so caliber interchangeablility is a little more involved (slide, barrel, gas piston, recoil springs, magazine and grips).
They still show the .440 Cor-Bon (.50 AE case necked down to a .44 bullet, hence simply a barrel swap from the .50) but I guess that doesn't guarantee it's still available.
I may be incorrect on the details but I think this is the basic difference.0 -
Blokey's dead on. Search the 'Davidson's' side of the Handgun page at Gunfinder.com for MR's and you'll find the 440 CorBon, 3 in stock for $1300. 0 -
I also recall seeing an AMT Automag chambered for the .440corbon, I think it was an Automag IV, not sure exactly, may fit the wallet a little better to find one of those?
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

A deagle XIX can be converted to a 357, 41, 44, 440 cor-bon, 50AE and all you have to do for the 440 and 50 is barrel (i believe you even use the same mags) not sure about the others. I have also heard that you CAN make the older ones into the 440 or maybe even the other calibers but thats just what i have heard and wouldnt suggest it till you ask someone who knows for sure.
well thats about all you asked but i suggest you handle this firearm BEFORE you buy one and maybe even try shooting a couple rounds through it cause it is a BIG pistol (7 inch diameter in the handle alone) and well from what i hear it kicks like a mother &^@!er but also if you plan on hunting with it see into getting a 10" barrel
