Cost of hot dip rebluing
I buying a rifle with some rust spots and wear marks - what is a ball park figure I can expect to pay to have the entire action cleaned up and reblued? I've never had a rifle reblued before.
Thanks

Capecod, when you say "cleaned up", that could mean many things. My gunsmith will hot blue a pistol for 40.00 if you take it apart and no polishing is required. Polishing is what makes the blue look good. If there is a lot of pitting and rust, no amount of blue will help. The polishing is the most expensive part of the deal, and the most labor intensive. That gives you a starting point anyway and some things to think about. Good luck,
John

depends on what rifle you are taking about, m-98 mauser= simple not to much rust probably about $60 to $80. browning bar grd.2 w/engraving= much harder up to $200. 0 -
Thanks guys - at least now I have some idea of the costs involved!
