question on weatherby mark v svm

    I'm sure they shoot well, but I wouldn't bet on one when put up against a 700 vs or vssf in 308. They don't have the number of "things" that can be bolted on or added as far as I have seen with my MK V. The Remington already has an HS precision stock and fully adjustable trigger, not to mention the most accurate out of the box action ever made. All 700's shoot well, some weatherby's need the help of a gunsmith to do so. Mine as a 257 mag and wouldn't shoot right out of the box, best group was 1 1/2" at 100yds. Pathetic for that much money. Tossed the barrel and stock, went with stainless barrel in 6.5-06 imp. and now it shoots. But no better than my 700 Sendero with no gunsmith help. get the remington and save the headache. Of course I am sure there will be other opinions.

    A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.
