Ruger 77/22 Mag coversion to 17 HMR
I'm thinking about turning my Ruger 77/22 Mag into a 17 HMR. As far as I know, it's a drop in barrel replacement. The only aftermarket barrels I have seen are bull barrels and would require channeling out the stock. Is there an original size replacement? Has anyone on this board had any experience with this conversion? I'm guessing the same Mag can be used.
What could I sell the 22 Mag factory take off barrel for?

I've been building 77/17's by using the Ruger 77/22 Mag VBZ, I open the barrel channel to
fit a 20" SS Fluted, .920 Green Moutain barrel.
$610, shipped to your FFL holder.
They are very accurate, more acurate than any other .17 HRM out there. You get the .22
Mag barrel also. Built several, one went to a rimfire match and the guy walked away with
first place, out shot guys with tricked out 10/22's and even some Anschutz rifles.
Pictures available if your interested.
