How Many guns have you bought part II
I guess I should have been more clear,I have an obsession with clean guns.I cant get caught up Siliconeing them. When I finish the last its time to start over again.Ive never shot a firearm and let it set over night without cleaning it.Of course it is a gun Im hunting with.I was talking about the loose screws when you buy a new gun in general.I always disassemble my guns and clean the packing grease from them.Ive seen a few it might have been dangerous to shoot with all the grease in the barrel.Your right Charlie my guns arent all that have loose screws.Ha!! HA!!

wasnt calling you a fool, just expressing my feelings to those whose standards are sub par. even on a new gun (ie NIB from the manufacturer) i dissasemble, inspect, and clean the gun. this often lets you find the little mistakes in or on the gun(such as loose screws). i witnessed a shooter enraged and disgusted because he could not get his new scoped howa in .223 to produce a 3 shot 6 inch group at one hundred yards. his point of impact kept shifting, and the groups walked all over the target. as you may have guessed the scope mounts were loose. a few minutes of work in dissasembling, inspecting, and cleaning would have saved him the wasted time, aggravation, and embarressment. it also familiarizes you with the gun, and its operation. better to figure out how to remove the bolt at home than to have to ask for help to figure out how to remove it at the range. i am simply bothered by shooters who show no interest in safty, and will not take even the simplist steps to improve there knowledge.
just blowing off some steam, mrmike

Rugster, it feels good to know I'm not the only person like that.
I got to the point I went to walmart and bought one of them vacuum bag sealers with the long extruded bags, and started vacuum sealing my guns after I oil them up. So far I've had excellent results. Its a real butt fighting corrosion down her in constant 100% humidity southeast Texas. You can buy those buckets of the stuff that obsorbs the humidity and gathers water in the bottom from walmart, I forgot what they are called, but keep them in the same room or closet, or safe with you guns, and it helps out too, however down here, you have do dump out the water and refil the crystals twice a week....
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.
