9mm rifle???
I'm looking for a new 9mm rifle. Looking at the Kel-tek or the ruger pc-9. Realy like that the Kel-tec can take my glock clips, and that it can flod in half. But Have always liked rugers guns, and the ruger high cap. mags aren't that much. would rather have a 9mm upper for my AR, but can't see apying more for it than a whole other gun.

I have a Marlin Camp Nine and have fired a few AR-15 9mm Uppers. I have fired a couple examples of the Ruger 9mm Rifle. Of the three I would invest in the AR upper....JMHO

I think lonewolf distributors makes and converts Ruger Carbines to accept Glock magazines. It wouldn't sound uncommon to find carbines that were converted to use other magazines. I remember seeing an add in shotgun news for a company who made conversions for HK USC 45's to use M3 Grease gun magazines.
As far as a 9mm carbine here are a list of just about all the options I can think of off the top of my head.
Ruger PC
Marlin Camp 9
Kel-Tec
UZI Carbine
MAC Carbine
AR Type Carbine
Mec-Tek Conversion Carbines
Various Glock Carbine Conversion Kits
Semi Auto Sten Carbine's just starting to pop up on market
SW5/HK94 (MP5 type) Carbine
Hi Point Carbine
SW760 Carbine (Look like S&W SMG, sold by Specail Weapons Mfg.)
Feather 9mm Carbines
Also for a unique touch there are many of the SMG parts kits on the market can be legally converted into functioning semi auto carbines.
So you really have alot of options to consider.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

And don't forget about some of the rather rare and fun preban 9mm carbines you run across at gun shows like those Cailco's.

I just bought a PC-9 and I love it. I've been after one for some time and I finally got it. All in all a fun gun and surprisingly accurate. The Kel-Tecs look like a toy. I'm scared I'd break it. Though I do have a P-32 and love it also, so I'm sure quality of thye sub 2000 is not an issue.

marlin camp 9's are great, ruger's fine but more bulkier/heavy, try olympic arms for an upper on the ar-15 great choice. 0 -
I just purchased a High-point 9mm carbine and it shoots really good. No problems feeding. But it is 1 ugly gun 0 -
You might also check out www.dalphon.com They are a small company and have been making AR pistol calibur conversions longer than anyone except maybe Colt.

I'm not sure but I think that dalphon.com place is getting their uppers from someone else and marking them up a bit, you might find out who their supplier is.

Lee-
I decided to check into it and emailed Dalphon, mainly because they have been selling pistol conversions for quite a while ... to the best of my recollection, since 96 or so which (I believe) is quite a bit longer than most companies (like Oly) has offered them ... I didn't think to ask them how long they'd been in business ... anyway I got the kind of answer you'd expect from a politician, they danced around the question, but never really answered it ... So I'm thinking you may be correct.

Subject: Info Please
Sirs,
I have owned one of your 10mm conversions and was quite pleased with it so I recommended your company on a firearms discussion board to a fellow member that was considering a pistol caliber conversion ( http://forums.gunbroker.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30474 ) . Another member said you weren't the manufacturer. In reading your "About Us" it sounds like you only manufacturer the mags, do you in fact also manufacture the upper conversions or just sell them?

We do manufacture most everything we sell however we purchase many of the components for other manufactures and of corse we do resell some things too!
thanks Dalphon

A word about Calico-
I've owned both the Calico .22 and 9mm rifles and wouldn't recommend them - while they are futuristic and cool looking, the mag springs are easily over torqued, when this happens they kink ... then guess what? ... Yep, their worthless! I had the 100 round drums in both the .22 and 9mm and you could only shoot about 20 rounds then you had to crank the spring up for more tension, you also had to release tension from the spring when loading or it would over torque and kink ... that's how I kinked the spring in both of mine, fortunately it only ruined the ends which I cut off, reinstalled the spring and sold them ASAP.

You might want to look on G'broker for the items from Feather U.S.A. in Colorado. Nice package, several distinctive options & they can be converted into other calibers (I think .22lr, 9mm & 45 ACp are the available one's right now), and they're all light-weight & break-down capable (in fact most of 'em come with a soft bag for storage & carrying). Check out their 'site at http://www.featherusa.com & then ldo a search for Feather on G'b. There's usually one or more up for auction. 0
