Model 700 Mountain Rifle
Gents,
I'm in the market for a new deer rifle. I've been looking at the Remington Model 700 Mountain in the 30-06. It looks like the perfect rifle to haul up a tree and hold onto for the entire day. I've read mixed reviews on the rifle's accuracy out of the box and am wondering if you have any good info on it's performance. Also, is there any difference between the LSS and DM models besides appearance?
Thanks in advance,
Paladins

DM stands for "detatchable mag" and and only comes in blued finish I believe. The LSS stands for "laminated(stock) stainless steel" and doesn't have a detatchable mag. 0 -
Paladins,
Welcome to GB, I have one of the first mountain rifles that they made.
It shoots better then I can, and a pleasure to carry. You won't go wrong on that choice. BTW, mine's a 30-06.0 -
Clintf and Bullelk,
Thanks for the help. Any idea what a good price for a new rifle would be?
Thanks again,

Interested in a 700 DM, 30-06, used but in excellent shape? 0 -
Bk0331,
I might be interested. How used is it? How many rounds have been fired through it? Do you have any pictures of it?
Thanks,

i also have an early m700 mtn rifle. this one is in .280 and and i wouldn't trade it for any other gun out there. just love mine 0 -
Palidins,
A new mountain fifle wholesales for around $520.00 plus shipping, then whatever a dealer wants to make on top of that.
Usually a good used one will sell for close to within $100.00 of a new one at wholesale.0 -
Paladins,
It's only about three years old and has less than 20 rounds through it. Contact me at bklimecki@comcast.net if interested.0
