Kimber Ultra Ten
I had thought about getting one of these for CCW. It felt surprisingly good in my hand and I REALLY liked the 10 rd. capacity. But I talked myself out of it due to what I believe must be pretty stiff recoil due to it's small size and polymer frame. Well I got the new issue of G&A today. Now I've got the urge again. So how is the recoil on this little monster? Is it managable? How does it compare to a normal 5" .45?

The Ultra 10 is a fun pistol to shoot. It has just enough weight and mass to make it comfortable. As a concealed carry weapon, its hard to beat. 10 rounds of 45ACP in a small package like that is serious self defense!

When Kimber announced the Pro and Ultra Carry 10's I was curious about the same thing, so just for fun, I took the top off my Pro-Carry CDP (same size as compact - 4" barrel) and put it on my (1st design) Stainless Polymer frame ... This is the same size as the Pro Carry 10, so it has the standard length stock, its very cool, very manageable, holds 14 rounds and functions flawlessly ...

I already have a Kimber and I think it's lonely, so I'll have to get the Ultra as well, now. The next big one I was planning for was an AR, so I guess I'll have to see which one I want more, now.
