+P Ammunition
"+P ammunition is loaded to higher pressure. Use only in firearms designated for this cartridge and so recommended by the gun manufacturer."
Would everyone agree with this? Trying to find some 38 Super Automatic ammo and all I can find is +P ammo.
Is standard pressure ammo for this caliber that hard to find?
HELP PLEASE.
Thanks
Ron

Just a quick question...how is ammunition loaded to a higher pressure? Just packed tighter? And, where can I find +P+ ammo? My USP claims to be insensitive to all types of ammo so I was looking to try some. Does anybody know of any good brands to try?
When a gun claims to be insensitive to all types of ammo, does that my gun has a negative attitude?

You know, they say a joke is only funny when it's told properly...what I meant to say was....
" If a gun claims to be insensitive to all kinds of ammunition, does this mean that my gun has a negative attitude? "
Really...I don't know if that was worth repeating.

Insensitive to all ammo would mean, give me what ya got, I can handle it
Sensitive to ammo would mean, I dont like that stuff.

Try Corbon ammo. 0 -
A nice website you might try that might be able to answer you question is www.saami.org
They are the people who regulate ammunition in the US basically.
They make it +p by using different powders, you may look into handloading, or maybe as some handloading data charts, this will help you understand what I mean.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

+P uses either a different powder or just more of the standard powder. A lot depends on the cartridge and the powder selected. In addition to Corbon, you can sometimes get ammo for law enforcement that is loaded to +P or +P+.
The advantage of +P or +P+ is mainly for short barreled guns--you usually don't need the horsepower for a full size gun or a large caliber.

+P ammo, for all practicle purposes, is a waste of money. What standard pressure ammo won't do, +P most likely won't either. Be more concerned with familiarity with your pistol and being able to hit your target quickly with the first round.
Most people who don't practice enough try to make up for their lack of shooting skills with "special" ammo that costs lots of money.
My humble opinion,
Rafter-S0 -
Honestly, BS behind, I have to agree with Rafterman. All +p ammo really does is look better on paper, and ballistics is actually one of the least important things when it comes to a defensive firearm. There are way more important things like reliability, accuracy, and knowing how and when to shoot.
