Will it hurt the value to install screw in chokes in mod 12 win.made in 1949.I was just wondering

  Buy another barrel and choke it, save the original.

  YES! It will cost a huge chunk of value, unless the gun is already junk. Buy a rough barrel in which to install choke tubes if you must do this.

  Judge & Shootist called it unless the gun is not matched.
  Again, original condition and percentages play a major factor.
  If high condition and all original, definitely buy another barrel.
  I personally will be cut open on this but, it is your gun, do as you want or purchase another gun and keep this one original.
