Ugly blue thing....
What are these things I keep seeing at the range? They're revolvers, and they're BLUE! Not blue as in black, blue as in BLUE! Light blue! Does anybody out there actually own one of these things? What are they? The local shops don't have them.

Now that is a blue revolver. My nephews play with something similar, but theirs also have bright orange caps on the front. 0 -
You young shooters must not realize that High Standard offered colored Sentinel snub revolvers in the late 1950s. They could be had in gold, turquoise and pink. The colored guns came with a very nice lined wood case and had nickel cylinders and ejector rods, along with a white immitation ivory grip. There is really nothing new under the sun, eh?

Some may consider these ugly and some nontraditional. But I belive they were introduced to appeal to the fair sex (they can cordinate with there clothing). That way the ladys can go armed with a gun they don't think of as ugly. I know my wife does not understand my feelings about the old Colts and Smith&Wesson deep bluing. And after all we need all of the new shooters we can get,and female shooters are one of the fastest growing segmates of the shooting sports. 0 -
As far as I know it cause the finish is Anondizing. If you ever look at a paintball gun, they can do some amazing things with anondizing.
If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

lee is correct. In fact, in the development work on the 30x173 rounds, many of the trials utilized color-coded cases for quick visual identification and there are a bunch of different colors. 0 -
Coordinate with their clothing? I don't really think of my guns as a fashion accessory. I would think something like that would be more likely to give you away in a low-light situation. My wife always wants a gun that is big and nasty-looking. Like....scary-looking. Not like a little cap-gun. But yes, farmplinker, exactly like that. Shudder. I think blue ( black ) is the way to go.

Heck if the blue one's the one she wants then its the one she's getting. If it takes multi-colored pistols to get my girlfriend interested in gun, great.
Just thought I'd bring it up but didn't EAA make a polyframed gun with a clear lower on it at one time? I swear I remember seeing one somewhere.

Decorator colors! I kind of like it. Wonder if I can get one in paisley to match my tie?

OMG....
pink???? Thats something my little sister might like, but the thought of her having a firearm scares me.0 -
Can you immagine going to the range with some of the guys - they pull out their 1911's, Glocks, Colts, and you pull out a pink 38spl!

Maybe the pink guns are for the "Pink Pistols," the pro-Second Amendment gay group!
EAA did in fact offer several colors of frames, and may still. Kel-Tec offers colors in its grips.0 -
Ugly is just a point of view. Remember when the Glock first came out? Now take my first ex-wife, THAT was/is UGLY!!!!
